jpnn.comVILLARREAL – Barcelona had to see their mainstay goalkeeper and captain, Marc-Andre Ter Stegen, lying on the field when visiting Villarreal’s headquarters in the sixth week of La Liga, Sunday (22/9/2024) evening WIB.
The German goalkeeper was seen groaning in pain while holding his knee during the duel which took place at the Estadio La Ceramica.
Ter Stegen suffered a knee injury late in the first half after landing awkwardly. The former Borussia Mönchengladbach man was immediately carried off the pitch on a stretcher.
Ter Stegen’s position was immediately replaced by Inaki Pena.
Luckily for Barcelona, despite losing Ter Stegen, the Blaugrana were able to take home three points from Villarreal’s headquarters.

Barcelona’s winning goals were scored by Robert Lewandowski (20′, 35′), Pablo Torre (58′), and Raphinha (74′, 83′).
Villarreal’s only goal was scored by Ayoze Perez in the 38th minute.
