TERENTO. The body of a young man with the almost decapitated headprobably bled to death. The violent end of a 25-year-old South Tyrolean found lifeless in an alpine pasture area above Terento, in Alto Adige, on the morning of Sunday 18 August is a mystery. The inspection conducted by the Carabinieri and the first elements collected were not sufficient to outline a clear picture. So much so that the surveys continued into the evening with the help of the firefighters’ headlights. What is certain at the moment is that the young man was found by the Alpine rescue team of the Guardia di Finanza in an alpine pasture area at about 1,600 metres above sea level near the Raffalt mountain hut, near his parked car.

From what has been learned, the 25-year-old he worked right in the mountain hut. The scene that the rescuers found in front of them was horrifying: the young man had a deep wound that almost severed his head from his neck. The evidence therefore suggests a homicide, but detailed scientific investigations will be needed to allow the investigators to examine the scene, defined as “complex” and “extremely enigmatic” by the investigators themselves, who are maintaining the utmost confidentiality on the case.
