Kuwait is also strengthening indigenization in the teaching sector. Dr Hamad Al Advani, Minister of Education, Higher Education, Science and Research, has ordered the dismissal of 1,857 expatriate teachers by the end of this academic year.
Qualified Swadeshi teachers will be replaced in the same proportion as expatriates are excluded. The Ministry of Education has decided to dismiss all expatriates in specializations where only 25 percent of expatriates are currently employed. Instead, the same number of natives will be appointed.
