Terrible storm: Japan’s southernmost island trapped

Typhoon Nanmadol has destabilized Japan’s southern main island of Kyushu yesterday.

The US Navy has classified the storm as a tropical storm. Demonic rain is falling on Kyushu Island. The Japan Meteorological Agency has warned that the river will break and cause floods and landslides.

Over 98,000 homes were without power due to torrential rain and strong winds in Kagoshima Prefecture and neighboring Miyazaki Prefecture on the island of Kyushu.

Officials from the area said that all train services, air services and ferry services operating in the area have been canceled until the storm passes.

The Meteorological Department had warned the area several times earlier that the strongest winds and heavy rains are likely to hit the area.

Yuta Kurora, head of the research department’s forecasting division, said on Saturday that a high level of vigilance is needed as much as possible.

At 8am Singapore time yesterday, the storm was 80km southeast of Japan’s Yakushima Island. The center was far away. 252 km. At speed it moved towards the shore.
