In Armenia, the Church began to occupy a special place among the forces opposing Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and calling for his overthrow. A group of Armenians, who have been on the roads and holding actions since the first day of the process of liberating 4 villages located in Tavush (Tovuzgala) district of Armenia – Baganis Ayrim, Ashagi Eskipara, Kheyrimli and Gizilhajili – which have been under Armenian occupation for 32 years, are now moving towards Yerevan.

They plan to reach the capital of Armenia on May 9 and hold large-scale mass protests and marches in the city.

The goal is to put an end to Nikol Pashinyan’s rule, to stop the process of delimitation and demarcation of the conventional state border between Azerbaijan and Armenia.

Outsourcing of shares is no longer in doubt. It is the first time since 2018, when N. Pashinyan came to power, that the diaspora organizations of Armenian communities in foreign countries, the “Karabag clan” in Armenia and the Armenian Church have come together and united in the same camp.

Bagrat Galstanyan, bishop of the Tavush diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church (EAC), who said that he was the “spiritual leader” of the actions that started in the Tavush (Tovuzgala) region, was “the only priest” until yesterday, but now he was joined by Mikael Achapanyan, the archbishop of the Shirak diocese of the EAC.

According to them, “they received the blessing of Echmiadzin regarding the moral leadership of the actions”. In other words, B. Galstanyan and M. Ajapanyan openly admitted that the Armenian Apostolic Church started political activities to overthrow Prime Minister N. Pashinyan.

This means that the former presidents of Armenia, Robert Kocharyan and Serzh Sargsyan, want to agree with the Armenian diaspora and start a large-scale process with the direct participation of the Armenian Apostolic Church.

Those who oppose the process of signing a peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia and try to prevent it by all means, who demand rapid arming and a new war, who say “we will return Karabakh and other territories, we will take them back”, cave-level revenge, revanchism in society, based on false “history” The statements of these forces promoting illusions, territorial claims and religious-ethnic intolerance are bravura.

According to them, “there is not much left” before N. Pashinyan is removed from power.

Along with the “Karabag clan” led by Robert Kocheryan and Serzh Sarksyan, the Armenian diaspora also declared that the change of power in Armenia is inevitable, and the march makes this process inevitable.

However, what is happening in Armenia now is a primitive scripted, tasteless and simple political spectacle.

For the first time in 2018, the play “March from the Province to Yerevan” staged in Armenia under the direction of Nikol Pashinyan, based on the script prepared by foreign directors, was a success. It was as a result of such “street protests” that the head of the country at that time, Serzh Sargsyan, was removed from power, and the “Im Kayle” (“My step”) movement came to power.

Although Pashinyan’s opponents repeated this performance many times later, they could not repeat the success of “Kailarast Nikol”. On the contrary, since April 23, 2018, all actions of the Armenian opposition in a scattered format, without exception, lacked the promised success.

Although the opposition groups supported, financed and controlled by the West, Russia and Iran promise to start the struggle with new potential every time, there is nothing new: the same slogans, similar calls, moldy statements, hopeless prospects.

How effective the march organized by the Armenian Apostolic Church, the “Garabag clan” and the dispor will be shown by the number of Armenians who joined the protest marchers when they reached Yerevan.

At present, the Armenian media, especially mass media under the control of R. Kocharyan-S. Sarksyan duo, and bloggers do not indicate the number of marchers.

The reason is known: under the current conditions in Armenia, can the number of people leaving their workplace for a week and joining the march to Yerevan be large?

Difficult.

Considering that the number of those protesting the handover of 4 villages to Azerbaijan and the delimitation and demarcation process of the conventional state border does not exceed 300-400 people, it is doubtful that they will be able to achieve any political goal even in a small country like Armenia.

However, when they arrived in Yerevan, R. Kocharyan, S. Sarksyan, Dashnaks, opposition groups controlled by Russia, etc. they will definitely take their supporters to the streets and try to show that “the majority of the Armenian people participated” in the protest.

That performance, which will be a joint product of the Revanchists and the Armenian Apostolic Church, will also cause irony, because the effectiveness of the action, which has been spent on a large amount of financial resources, is minimal, and the result is easily predictable from the beginning.

The current situation clearly shows that the direct leaders and participants of the march are just trying to demonstrate that they did not waste the funds allocated for another protest action against Nikol Pashinyan’s rule.

Contrary to their statements, this primitive action is not supported by a significant part of Armenian citizens. If that were the case, the number of those blocking the roads on April 19 would be tens of thousands.

However, although the current actions are held in different parts of Armenia, it is the same figures who appear in front of the cameras and make “pathetic” speeches.

The Armenian Apostolic Church, the “Karabag clan” and the diaspora are united and intend to resist Pashinyan’s rule until the end.

Thus, the processes in Armenia are actually a struggle, existential conflict between fictional past and real modernity, dreams and lies and reality and perspectives.

Despite all the shouts, slogans and hysterical statements of the revanchists and the Armenian diaspora, new military operations are impossible.

30 years ago, Armenians succeeded in occupying 20 percent of the territories of Azerbaijan under the name of “armed struggle of Karabakh Armenians”. Now, the majority of Armenians from Karabakh voluntarily left Azerbaijan and went to Armenia. Since Nagorno-Karabakh no longer exists, any form of military activity by Armenians will be considered as an attack by Armenia against Azerbaijan.

If that happens, it is easy to predict the direction of the fate of quasi-state Armenia.

The Armenian Apostolic Church wants to drag the Armenians into disaster, as it has done many times in the last two centuries. In 1915, the Armenian priests who encouraged the Armenians in Ottoman Turkey to betray the homeland and the state and commit massacres by attacking Turkish villages with weapons later made “heroes” of general Andranik Ozanya, butcher Drastamat Kanaya, Nazi Garegin Njden, and finally started the separatism of Karabakh Armenians.

It should be recalled that on February 25, 1988, Catholicos of all Armenians 1st Vazgen wrote a letter to the head of the USSR, Mikhail Gorbachev, demanding the “unification of Nagorno-Karabakh with Armenia”.

After Nikol Pashinyan’s coming to power, Armenian Catholicos and priests, who constantly ignited the desire for a new war in Armenian society and called for the occupation of another part of Azerbaijan’s territories, have never had normal thinking and adequate logic.

They want large-scale actions now.

Their biggest dream is to march in Yerevan and enter the parliament building.

But Nikol Pashinyan is also ready to welcome them.
