The recall concerns all models S and X from 2016 and above, Model 3 from 2017 and above and Model Y from 2020 and above that are running the company’s fully autonomous driving software (FSD), which is not available in Israel but only in certain countries and only to drivers who have been filtered.

According to NHTSA, the software may “exceed the speed limit or drive into intersections in an illegal or unexpected manner that increases the risk of a crash.” At the same time Tesla itself issued an admission according to which “under certain and rare circumstances the possibility may violate traffic laws or customs while performing certain driving navigations”. Drivers are urged not to drive vehicles with the software activated until a free software update arrives.
