On August 14, Tesla cut prices for Model 3 and Model Y cars in the Chinese market. This policy is aimed at increasing the attractiveness of cars for potential buyers, Day.Az reports with reference to carnewschina.

Prices fell by 1100-1900 dollars. The extended range version of the Model Y dropped from $43,200 to $41,300. The most powerful version of the Model Y dropped from $50,100 to $48,200. The base Model 3 dropped from $31,500 to $30,400, while the more powerful version now starts at $45,500.

This year in China, manufacturers are actively reducing the prices of their cars. Against this backdrop, Model 3 sales declined markedly in the Chinese market. This decline and a notable increase in the number of completed Model 3 vehicles contributed to Tesla’s Shanghai plant sales decline in July, the lowest in a year. This forced Tesla to cut prices again.
