Testing the Seat Tarraco plug-in hybrid

by time news

WIf we had suspected that, we would not have returned the test car and resold it for a surcharge. Unfortunately, things went the way they always do, we test and send them back. What didn’t go as usual: the model is no longer available, at least not in the configurator. Seat no longer accepts orders for its Tarraco as a plug-in hybrid because lots of customers have to wait a long time for theirs. That’s a bit mean, because if the car still existed, we’d recommend it. Possibly, however, there is good news in the bad, and given the diminishing state subsidies, it is worth looking at the models with petrol engines or diesel, which can still be ordered.

The Tarraco is one of those cars that not everyone has at the top of their spontaneous shopping list. It offers many virtues that are lost under hipper clothes for all those who want to transport kith and kin. It rolls comfortably and quietly, is spacious, has plenty of room in the rear and in the trunk, the seating position is excellent, and you can still see edges when parking without having to rely on the camera. The fact that the air conditioning is touched instead of rotated is a step backwards, that it blows vehemently cool, a trump card in these hot days.

As a plug-in, 245 systemically allied hp and a direct shift gearbox are at work, which together do fine work up to 205 km/h. The only 1.4 liter small petrol engine gets along well on its own, provided that it is not required, then it whines a little. As a soloist, he consumed 7.0 liters of premium fuel in the test. Electrically, the gross 13 kWh battery is sufficient for 38 kilometers, which is only half famous and quite a high power consumption. The hybrid lacks the option of a third row of seats, but there is a cheeky boost mode. 47,600 euros would have to be invested for this.
