Tetouan: Torchlight procession and fireworks on the occasion of the Throne Festival

The show began at El Mechouar Square with remarkable performances by the formations of musicians, infantry, horsemen and torchbearers of the Royal Guard.

Captivating the inhabitants and visitors of the city of Tetouan, these performances were accompanied by rhythms of melodies taken from the repertoire of patriotic songs.

The audience was amazed by the execution, by the Royal Guard troupe, of harmonious performances accompanied by music orchestrated by the Royal Guard band.

On this occasion, artistic tableaux were executed in perfect order which enchanted spectators captivated by performances reflecting a unique tradition that distinguishes Morocco.

Subsequently, a formation of the Royal Air Force and the musical troupe of the Royal Gendarmerie and the Royal Navy, captivated the audience by performing songs highlighting the close ties between the Alawite Throne and the Moroccan people, such as “Nidaa Al Hassan”, in addition to the song “Dirou Niyya”, which celebrates the epic of the Moroccan national football team during the last World Cup in Qatar. These performances were taken up in chorus by thousands of spectators.

Starting from El Mechouar Square towards Moulay El Mehdi Square, the formations taking part in this procession, led by the torchbearers, crossed the main squares and districts of Tetouan, singing along the way magnificent patriotic songs including “Nidaa El Hassan”, which created an atmosphere filled with enthusiasm and reflecting the love that Moroccans have for their homeland.

After the launch of the fireworks, the celebrations were closed at Place Moulay El Mehdi, with a concert presented by the Royal Symphony Orchestra which revisited great jazz standards.

During this musical event, which is part of the Throne Day celebrations, the Royal Symphony Orchestra succeeded in bringing back to life the most famous works of this musical genre, presenting them in new and refined forms to the audience of the Colombe Blanche.
