Title: Adolis García Sidelined with Oblique Strain; World Series Participation in Question

Date: [Date]

PHOENIX – Texas Rangers All-Star right fielder Adolis García suffered an unfortunate setback in Game 3 of the World Series against the Diamondbacks on Monday, as he left the game due to a left-side tightness. García experienced discomfort after a swing in the top of the eighth inning, prompting Travis Jankowski to replace him in right field for the remainder of the game.

García underwent an MRI post-game, which revealed that he has a moderate strain of the oblique muscle. As a result, he will not be included in the starting lineup for Game 4 on Tuesday, and Jankowski will once again take over his spot.

The Rangers’ managerial staff, led by Bruce Bochy, has not yet made a final decision regarding García’s status for the rest of the series. Oblique strains generally require a few weeks to heal, but with the high stakes of the World Series, García may attempt to play through the injury. However, doing so could potentially compromise his performance on the field.

A video replay of the swing in which García sustained the injury was examined, suggesting that he aggravated his left side during the swing.

Losing García for the remainder of the series would be a significant blow for the Rangers. The dynamic outfielder has been a crucial part of their lineup, serving as their cleanup hitter, and even setting a record for the most RBI in a single postseason. In just 15 playoff games, García has displayed remarkable stats, hitting .323/.382/.726 with eight home runs and 22 RBI, including a memorable walk-off blast in Game 1.

If García is removed from the roster, he will be ineligible to return later in the series, effectively ending his season. The Rangers would be permitted to activate another player in his place, preventing them from playing with a short-handed roster.

As the teams prepare for the remainder of the World Series, uncertainty hangs over García’s ability to contribute. Fans will be eagerly awaiting updates on his condition and any decisions made regarding his potential reinsertion into the lineup.
