The warning letter that was sent on Thursday (22/8) went viral because the promotional video for the film Thagut touched on the profession of a shaman.
In the synopsis and several promotional videos for the film Thagut, Leo Pictures is considered to have given a negative view of shamans in Indonesia.
In fact, according to them, shamans are divided into many categories, not all of them are evil.
There are white shamans who are harmed by the statement, ‘all shamans are misguided’ in the film’s promotion.
Dwi Lestari, a cultural figure, Javanese custodian, and representative of his “White Shaman” colleagues, sent a warning letter on Wednesday (21/8).
He asked Leo Pictures for clarification regarding the claim that believing in shamans is something that is Thaghut (transcending the limits) without any further explanation.
This claim is considered prone to misconception by the figure usually called Tari.
