Thailand warship sinks at sea; Efforts are on to rescue the 31 people trapped in the ship

A warship of the Thai Navy has sunk in the Gulf of Thailand. Around 106 people were inside the warship at the time of the incident. About 75 people have been rescued so far, while 31 people are still stranded, the Navy said. Efforts are on to rescue them. The warship Sukhothai of the Thai Navy was sunk.

The accident happened on Sunday evening. The accident happened while patrolling the sea. Due to strong winds, sea water entered the ship and damaged the electrical systems. Attempts were made to pump the seawater back out, but were unable to do so. Several warships and helicopters are still involved in the rescue operation. The accident was an American-built warship in use by the Thai Navy since 1987.
