Kannur: Raj Kabir said that the Thalassery municipal authorities have harmed the industry so much that it cannot be carried forward. After Raj Kabir’s business establishment was closed by the municipal corporation, Raj Kabir and his wife left the country. The police found them from Coimbatore and brought them back.

Raj Kabir says that he and his wife left the country because of the work of the municipality. Tired. With the closure of the industrial establishment, there were financial problems. With the closure of the industry, it was realized that it could no longer continue. Despite the High Court’s order, the municipal chairperson did not budge. There was no justice. Industries Minister P Rajeev also behaved favorably. But despite explaining everything about the situation, the mayor did not pay attention.

Even after getting an order to go to the High Court and pay 10% of the fine, the Municipal Corporation behaved cruelly. With the closure of the establishment, even the families of the workers became homeless.

No reply was given. Raj Kabir asks that he is not related to any political party and has never faced any problem with anyone, yet why did he harm him like this.

Raj Kabir and his wife Srividya, who had left the country after writing a letter against the municipal council, were found in Coimbatore during an inspection following the mobile tower location. Although they had switched off the phone, the tower location was available to the police. Then on the instructions of DIG Rahul R Nair, the police reached Coimbatore and found the couple and brought them home.

A businessman couple from Thalassery wrote a letter saying that they are leaving the country after the closure of the furniture industry by the Thalassery Municipal Corporation. Meanwhile, Thalassery Municipal Corporation Chairperson Jamuna Rani came forward with serious allegations against the couple. Jamuna Rani said that businessman Raj Kabir and his wife Sridivya left the country to attack the Municipal Corporation. A fine of four and a half lakh rupees was imposed for putting the sheet in front of the institution. Now the businessman is making a move to destroy the administrative system. Jamuna Rani also says that the Industries Department has not held any dialogue with the Municipal Corporation on this issue.

The son of industrialist Raj Kabir won the award for the best young entrepreneur last year. Devadatta’s paper bag manufacturing unit got the award of four lakh rupees from the state government. Raj Kabir’s family alleges that the move to evacuate the industrial establishment in Thalassery belongs to the municipal corporation. The heavy fines are part of a move to transfer land to others. His brother Rajendran Thayat told Asianet News that Rajkabir and his wife left the country because they could not bear the strong threat and pressure.

Raj Kabir and his wife Sridivya started a furniture manufacturing unit in 2006 at the Mini Industrial Park in Kantikal, Thalassery. In 2018, a zinc sheet was placed in front of the establishment to unload the finished goods. This is an illegal construction and the Thalassery Municipal Corporation has demanded a fine of four lakh seventeen thousand. Raj Kabir approached Raj Kabir several times requesting to reduce the fine due to the crisis of Covid, but on July 27, the municipal council canceled the license of the establishment and closed it down. Raj Kabir went to the High Court against this and won a favorable verdict. The order was that the company can operate after paying 10 percent of the fine. But the municipal corporation did not open the institution and again put the entrepreneurs in trouble.

Divya, the manager of the institution, also explained to Asianet News that despite reaching the municipal council with the court order, it was not opened. She added that the misbehavior was from the vice-chairman of the municipality. The Block Officer of the Industries Department responded to the matter by saying that he had intervened in the matter. But the Municipal Corporation did not give in and the Industries Department Thalassery Block Officer stated.
