PARIS (Agefi-Dow Jones)–The technology and defense group Thales announced Thursday evening that it had signed a contract to supply its solutions to the new Alexandria metro, in Egypt.

The total amount of this contract won from the National Authority for Tunnels (NAT) as part of a consortium made up of Colas Rail, a subsidiary of the diversified conglomerate Bouygues and Orascom Construction, an Egyptian construction specialist, amounts to at 1.3 billion euros. The share going to Thales has not been communicated.

At the beginning of the month, Colas Rail indicated that its share of the contract amounted to 320 million euros. For its part, Orascom Construction revealed that it had obtained this contract in September without specifying its share.
