The “Thang-Ta” matches started today at the PSG Medical College Indoor Stadium in Coimbatore as part of the Gallo India Games.
Under 18 men and women categories, these competitions are conducted in two categories namely “Phunaba Ama” and “Phunaba Anishuba”. Today and tomorrow, the elimination round matches are held. Following this, the semi-finals and finals will be held on the 30th.
Thang-Ta athletes from various states including Rajasthan, Manipur, Jharkhand, Maharashtra, Punjab have participated in these national level competitions. A large number of public and sports enthusiasts came to watch the matches. The arrangements for these competitions have been made by the district administration and the Sports Authority of India.
