When the Tamil Nadu Assembly meets at the beginning of every year, it is customary for the Governor to deliver a speech. In that regard, Governor RN Ravi addressed the Assembly on the 9th. But there was an uproar that he had left some pages of the text unread. A resolution was also passed in the assembly against him. The resolution was brought by Prime Minister M. K. Stalin.

In this context, a resolution of thanks to the governor’s speech was brought in the assembly yesterday. DMK passed this resolution. Filed by Member Kambham Ramakrishnan. It said:-

This House records its regret over the Governor’s address, which was sent by the Government of Tamil Nadu, composed by the Governor, and incorporated and omitted parts of the speech presented to the Assembly.

The members of the Assembly are grateful to the Governor’s address recorded in the Assembly on the 9th of January, 2023 in appreciation of Hon. The governor should also register his gratitude and regret for the speech.
