Bijumenon and Vineeth Srinivasan starrer Thangam has released the first look poster. The poster featuring Biju Menon, Vineeth Srinivasan and Aparna Balamurali has now been released. It has been announced that the film will be released in theaters in 2023. The film is being produced under the banner of Bhavana Studios. Gold was first announced in 2019. But then the film got delayed. Thangam is a crime drama film.
The film is directed by newcomer Saheed Arafat. The screenplay of the film is written by Shyam Pushkaran. Girish Kulkarni, Kochu Preman and Unnimayya Prasad also appear in the lead roles in the film. Bhavana Studios is a film production company started by Dileesh Pothan, Shyam Pushkaran and Fahad Fazil. The name of the studio in Mahesh’s Pratikaram, where the trio came together, is also given here. Thangam is Bhavana Studios’ fourth film.

Earlier, Kumbalangi Nights, Joji and Paltu Janvar were the films that came under the banner of Bhavana Studios. Thangam also has the distinction of being scripted by Shyam Pushkar after winning the Best Adapted Screenplay Award at the State Film Awards.
When the film was first announced in 2019, Fahadh Faasil, Joju George and Dilish Pothan were slated to play the lead roles. A poster including them was also released. But later Biju Menon and Vineeth Srinivasan decided to replace Fahad and Joju. But there are also reports that Vineeth Srinivasan was initially chosen as the central character of the film.
