The workers of the Congress of the Republic will benefit from a bonus of S/ 9,900, due to the extension of the legislature, the national situation, the proximity of the worker’s day and the performance of their work.

The measure was approved by agreement 130-2022/2023/MESA-CR, signed by the president of Congress, José Williams Zapata. The bonus originates from letters sent by the Congressional Workers Union (SITRACON), report 068-2023-OPP-OM-CR from the Planning and Budget Office and a letter signed by spokespersons for the benches.

“Authorize for the only time, for the concept of extension of the legislature, an extraordinary bonus as a liberality in favor of active workers of the Parliamentary Service and the Parliamentary Organization with employment relationship to the date of this agreement, regardless of the labor regime in which they perform, for the amount equivalent to two Tax Units (UITs)”, says the document.

Said bonus will not be of a remunerative, compensatory, or pensionable nature, nor will it be subject to social charges, nor will it constitute a calculation basis for compensation for time of service or any type of bonus or assignment.

It should be noted that, according to data from Parliament, until February 2023, there were a total of 3,375 workers, of which 1,447 are part of the parliamentary organization (1,444 are trusted personnel and 3 have an administrative contract for services-trust).

Meanwhile, 1,928 workers belong to the parliamentary service, with 1,050 having an indefinite-term contract; 710 fixed term; 29 as appointed personnel; and 139 with an administrative service contract.
