Monisha Unni is the evergreen heroine of Malayalam. Despite the tears, Monisha is still a young actress in the hearts of fans. It has been three decades since Vasantha Monisha passed away. If he had lived, he would have been 51 years old now.

On December 5, 1992, the car in which Monisha and her mother were traveling for the shooting of the film ‘Cheppadividya’ collided with a bus in Cherthala, Alappuzha. He was pronounced dead at the scene due to brain injuries. The mother escaped with minor injuries.

Monisha has won many awards in her seven-year film career. The actress, who won the Urvashi title for her first film, also won the National Award. Monisha acted in about 27 films in all languages in her career.

Now actor Vineeth is sharing Monisha’s memories. Both were close friends. Their friendship which started from the first film Nakkhashamtan continued till Monisha’s death.

Monisha got her nails done when she was 13 years old. Vineet was 16 years old then. Both of them knew nothing about acting except that they knew how to dance. Vineet says that they were showing off as Hariharan sir told them.

I learned all the basics of cinema from there. Monisha won the National Award despite Hariharan Sir acting. Monisha played the role of Gauri so beautifully.

We acted together in Ritubheda after Nakkhashatam. Later I took a break to study. Monisha was also actively doing films at that time. Later we acted together in Kamaladalam after a break. By then, Monisha had become an accomplished artist.

We had a good friendship, a relationship of mutual respect. In mid-1992, there was a lullaby show in Dubai. We were there for a month and everyone was there. Monisha seems to have never enjoyed a show so much. After that the victory at Kamaldalam was also celebrated.

The tragedy of that day is still in disbelief. We were together until the day before. Monisha was in the film GS Vijayan. I am also in Lenin Rajendran’s film. But we stayed in the same hotel.

That day we went together to watch the movie Champakulam Tachan. Srividyamma was also there. Monisha came with us covering her face with a dupatta. Then I was told that I was going to Bangalore for an event. After the shoot, I went to Thalassery and Monisha left a note at the hotel congratulating me for the show in Bangalore as I couldn’t see her. My mother informed Monisha about the accident when she reached Thalassery.

He reached Kochi and then went to Bangalore. The funeral was there. Monisha was a person who treated everyone with love and maintained a good relationship. No one can forget Monisha’s natural acting and graceful beauty. Vineeth says that’s why he still loves Monisha even after all these years.
