Sanju Samson, a cricketer from Kerala, made his international debut for India in 2015 but had the misfortune of playing the 2nd match in 2019 and was used like garbage until 2021. But the fans may remember how the Australian coach Justin Langer appealed to the umpire and the umpire did not object to how Jadeja, who had batted completely for 20 overs after hitting his head, could not come to bowl. “I was ready after our batting innings with plans to set the field before Australia came to bat. Then Sanju Samson and Mayang Aggarwal were sitting near me. At that time when we were thinking about the substitute we thought “Sir Bantu has hit Jadeja on the head so why don’t we ask for a substitute? Why don’t we replace him with another bowler, Sahal? Sanju Samson told me. That’s when I saw a captain in that young player.”
“Also I told him to explain these views of yours to Ravi Shastri. Ravi Shastri heard his opinion and agreed to it as it was beneficial. That moment when Sanju Samson thought that was the main reason for making Sahal play in that way left an unforgettable memory of him in my life. It showed how he thinks about his team as a leader.”
