Foster also says that Ronaldo is convinced of how his work will be received.
‘This is never true. With only three or four minutes left in the game, he left the field by himself. He had a good sense of how his actions would be interpreted. “Had it been any other player in his place, it would have been over in that moment,” added Foster.

The incident started on October 19 during the match against Tottenham.
Coach Erik ten Haag did not field superstar Cristiano Ronaldo in the match against Lily Whites. Ronaldo, an unused substitute, left the field before the end of the match.
The player left the field in the 90th minute of the match. Four minutes were allowed as add-on time, but the player left the field without waiting for it.
After the incident, Ronaldo’s actions were widely criticized as unprofessional and unfit for football.
