New Delhi: Former cricketer Yograj Singh is always known for his outspoken statements. He is once again in the news. This time he has commented on Sachin Tendulkar’s son Arjun Tendulkar. Yograj Singh is the father of Yuvraj Singh, the legendary batsman of the Indian team. He has also coached Arjun in cricket. He was asked about Arjun in an interview. Earlier also Yograj has accused Mahendra Singh Dhoni of ruining his son Yuvraj Singh’s career.
What did Yograj Singh say?
In an interview, when he was asked about his experience of training Arjun Tendulkar, Yograj said, ‘Have you seen a diamond in a coal mine? It is just coal.’ This video went viral on social media and created an uproar in the cricket world.
However, later Yograj clarified his point and said, ‘Take it out, it is just a stone, put it in the hands of a carver and it shines and becomes the Kohinoor of the world. It is precious. But if the same diamond reaches a person who does not value it, he destroys it. I myself do not say that Yograj Singh is a great craftsman, Yuvraj Singh says, ‘My dad has magic in his hands, he made me what I am’. Earlier I used to get abuses like ‘Hitler, Dragon Singh, I hate my father’. Everyone in my house hated me. My relatives used to say, he should not have become a father. By the grace of God you got Yuvraj Singh.’
Dhoni was targeted
It is worth noting that Yograj Singh has targeted Dhoni on several occasions before and has held him responsible for his son Yuvraj’s career. After the recent comment on Dhoni, an old video of Yuvraj is going viral in which he expressed concern over his father’s statements. During a podcast, Yuvraj had said, ‘I think my father has mental problems and he does not want to accept it.’
