jpnn.com – JAKARTA – There are a very large number of lawsuits over the results of the 2024 Regional Head Election (Pilkada) being sued at the Constitutional Court (MK), reaching 312 cases.

These are the notes from the Association for Elections and Democracy (Perludem) regarding requests for disputes over the results of the elections for governors, regents and mayors taken from the MK’s official website as of Friday (20/12) at 16.00 WIB.

“From the data, it was found that there were 312 applications originating from the elections for regents, mayors and governors,” said Luludem Researcher Ajid Fuad Muzaki when delivering a presentation in an online discussion entitled ‘Initial Portrait of PHP-Kada 2024’ monitored in Jakarta, Sunday ( 12/22).

He then detailed that of this number the largest number of requests came from disputes over the election of regents, with requests amounting to 241 cases or 77.2 percent of the total requests.

Then it came from mayoral election disputes amounting to 49 cases (15.7 percent).

Then, the fewest requests were disputes over the gubernatorial election, amounting to 22 cases (7.1 percent).

“This is quite a large number, actually,” said Ajid.

He said that the large number of requests for disputes over the 2024 regional elections submitted to the Constitutional Court showed the high level of public attention and participation in the democratic process.
