Activation of the Zes (Special Economic Zones) in the South it did not work because the law that established them is very complicated, but the instrument remains valid and has so far proved to be an excellent opportunity for development in the territories in which it has been inserted, in other parts of the world: the south has great potential for attract industrial investments, as long as there is a common direction for attracting investments. These are the conclusions of the webinar on “Zes Special Economic Zones. Opportunities and challenges for the relaunch of the economy of the South ”organized by the three Manageritalia Associations of the South which involved institutions and business communities.
A sort of Super League born certainly not to divide, but rather to unite and give the whole of the South, and certainly also the country, a real and definitive opportunity for development. This is the sense of the strengthened union of the three Manageritalia Associations operating in Southern Italy. For Ivano Russo, general manager of Confetra, the Zes did not work “not for the little money put in place or for the well-known bureaucracy, but for the strong environmental exceptions, contracts, work etc. that elsewhere they have attracted and if not put in place they do not move the world champions of big business, because there is only a little tax credit left “.
Roberto Beccari, national vice president of Manageritalia concluded: “I felt in the speeches a lot of tiredness with respect to the procedures, we need more respect between the various decision-making interlocutors, mutual involvement is needed. We are pushing for the involvement of managers, not only private but also public, with the CIDA, therefore people who have planning skills and will to implement. We will try to give support to do so soon. We will also try to be consistent. All economic models are changing. Today the most virtuous and sustainable economic paths are making their way, even the financial world with the ESG criteria pushes for this line of development. And true economic, social and environmental sustainability has its premises in that of the system and systems and therefore of all the players, even more so if they are protagonists as accelerators or brakes of development ”, concluded Roberto Beccari, national vice president of Manageritalia.
