The adventure of Guido and his three dog companions along the routes of Argentina lasted seven months. Guido Rodríguez: Thank you for having me! Honestly, it was a combination of my love for travel and the desire to discover hidden gems in Argentina. I wanted to escape the tourist traps and find places that truly resonate with the spirit of the country. Plus,I couldn’t resist the thought of embarking on this adventure with my dogs,Timón,Pumba,and Barú; they make every moment more fun!
Editor: Traveling for seven months sounds like a dream! What were some of the most memorable experiences you had during this time?
Guido: There are so many! I would say one of the highlights was reaching the lesser-known towns where the people were incredibly welcoming. I met locals who shared their stories, traditions, and food—it was magical. Each town had its unique charm and history, which is often overlooked in mainstream tourism.
Editor: You recently shared a list of ten small towns that are perfect for nature lovers looking to escape the hustle and bustle. What criteria did you use to select these towns?
Guido: I focused on places that showcased natural beauty, rich culture, and a sense of community.I believe travel should be about connection—whether it’s with nature or the people you meet. Each town on my list offers something special, whether it’s stunning landscapes, local recipes, or unique festivals.

Guido: Absolutely! Traveling isn’t just about what you see; it’s also about the people you meet.By engaging with locals, I learned so much about their lives, customs, and challenges. It fosters a deeper thankfulness for the places we visit. Plus, it makes for some great stories! These real-life interactions often lead to unforgettable memories that you won’t find in any guidebook.
Editor: Some travelers might be hesitant about venturing off the beaten path. What advice would you give to those looking to explore less conventional destinations?
Guido: I would say go for it! Step out of your comfort zone and be open to new experiences. Start by doing some research, talk to locals, and be willing to embrace spontaneity. And of course, always have a good sense of humor; things won’t always go as planned, but that’s part of the adventure!

Guido: My goal is to tell genuine stories that reflect my experiences. I always present the beauty of a location but also its challenges,including environmental and social issues.
