The 146th anniversary of the Liberation of Ruse will be solemnly celebrated on February 20 (Tuesday). From 9 a.m. in the “Holy Trinity” Cathedral, Metropolitan Naum of Ruse, Bishop Makariy of Glavinitsa and priests from the Holy Metropolis of Ruse will hold a prayer of thanksgiving in memory of those who died on the memorable date.
At 10:30 a.m. on the square in front of the church, the National Society “Tradition” organized a reenactment of the entry of Russian troops into Ruse and the welcoming of General Totleben.
From 11:30 a.m., the solemn ceremony will be held in the Pantheon of the Revivalists with the participation of the Municipal Wind Orchestra with conductor Dimcho Rubchev. Mayor Pencho Milkov, regional governor Danail Kovachev and the director of the Regional History Museum Prof. Nikolay Nenov will speak.
Traditionally, at the end of the ceremony, wreaths and flowers will be laid in memory of the fallen heroes. Those interested can register in advance by email [email protected].
The ceremony will also include Darina Daskalova – a long-time winner of the recital competition “Za da ia ima” organized by the Municipal Youth Home, and the Children’s and Girls’ Choir “Danube Waves” at the Municipal Children’s Center for Culture and Art with conductor Vesela Todorova .
The host of the ceremony will be the actor from the Drama Theater “Sava Ognyanov” Kosyo Stanev.
