The Swedish Academy announced today (Thursday) that the French writer Annie Arnault is the winner of the Nobel Prize in Literature for 2022. Arnault has previously said that writing is a political act, which opens our eyes to social inequality. The award committee noted that for this purpose, she uses words as a “knife”, as she calls it, to tear the veils of imagination.

It is also written that “with great courage and clinical sharpness, Arno reveals the agony of the experience of social classes, describing shame, humiliation, jealousy or the inability to see who you are. She has achieved something lasting, worthy of admiration.”
