Anchored in the cultural heritage of Tangier, Tanjazz is reinventing itself with a new signature, “Festival des Jazz de Tangier”, and a visual identity reflecting the musical diversity and unique energy felt in the heart of the city, indicates a press release from the organizers.
For the opening of Tanjazz 2024, the Palais des arts et de la culture will host, on September 19, a new creation: the Afro-Cuban melodies of “Omar Sosa Quarteto AfroCubano” and the Gnaoua sounds of “Majid Bekkas Afro Gnaoua Blues Trio” will blend for an exceptional inaugural concert.
The Palace of Italian Institutions will open its doors on September 21 and 22. For the first time, the interior and exterior spaces of the palace will host parallel programming, the same source notes.
The stage set up in the outdoor gardens of the Palais will host two headliner concerts. The outdoor gardens will be equipped with two food courts and will offer entertainment, fanfares between concerts to provide a festive and warm experience.
During these two days, the Lazcare Volcano band will liven up the venue before the concerts and at the end of the evening, enriching the festive atmosphere of the event.
Inside the Palace, dance classes will open the show, and jam sessions will close it.
The programme for this event includes jazz in all its forms, as well as rock’n’roll.
