This edition, which will see the participation of senior officials from international institutions, aims to explore the new challenges of macroeconomic management and to focus on promoting the economic transformation of Africa, the PCNS said in a press release.

“The AES aspires to become an annual meeting of continental scope bringing together economists, policy makers and academics on the subject of the African economy, with particular attention to the challenges of macroeconomic stability and structural issues that influence Africa’s economic development,” said the executive president of the PCNS, Karim El Aynaoui, quoted in the press release.

The Symposium will be held in two distinct parts. The first part will explore new challenges in macroeconomic management, including the effectiveness of monetary policy in controlling inflation while supporting economic growth, the implications of monetary tightening for financial stability, and the role of new fiscal strategies in ensuring fiscal discipline and debt sustainability.

In the second part, the Symposium will focus on promoting Africa’s economic transformation through innovative financing mechanisms. Discussions will focus on financing mechanisms for the green transition, the social aspects of development financing, policy actions to harness domestic financial potential, and the role of the international financial community in addressing financing gaps and debt restructuring challenges.

The AES will also provide the opportunity to present the annual report on the African economy, which maps African economic dynamics at different scales, the press release concludes.
