The 4th GE.L. Rhodes celebrates the institution of Erasmus Days 2023: “6 days for Europe to shine!”

Erasmus Days takes place for the seventh year – this year for a whole week – from 9 to 14 October 2023. This week is dedicated to the European Year of Skills. The aim of Erasmus Days 2023 is to highlight Europe’s cultural diversity and highlight the many learning opportunities it offers. Erasmus Days is a unique opportunity for all participants. They will be given the opportunity to discover new cultures, strengthen their linguistic and intercultural skills, develop their employability and embrace the European values ​​of tolerance, respect and diversity.

On this occasion, in 2022 more than 6,295 events were organized in over 58 countries. In our country, 272 corresponding actions took place by agencies that implemented plans in the fields of Education and Training.

The 4th GE.L. Rhodes, in turn, is organizing a series of events again this year, participating in the institution of Erasmus Days. The program of events follows.

Tuesday, October 10

· We have fun learning Europe – Learning Europe means having fun

What do we know about Europe? How many states are there in the European Union? What are the responsibilities of the European Parliament? When are European elections held? What is the Maastricht Treaty? What is the Schengen Agreement? I’m learning about Europe and its institutions by playing digital games!

· MEP for a day: Reflection, Democracy, Action

The students discuss, search, reflect and express their objections, regarding what needs to change in their school, in their city, in their country, in Europe! They propose actions for change and are committed to their implementation!

Wednesday, October 11

· The Europe of my dreams – The Europe of my dreams

Through an experiential workshop, students discuss, search, reflect and ultimately dream of a Europe of peoples, of multiculturalism, of democracy, of prosperity, of sustainability. They dream and represent through art the Europe of their dreams!

Thursday, October 12

Photography Exhibition: “Europe through Erasmus+ project mobilities”

Photos taken by students and teachers from trips to various European countries, which have taken place within the framework of Erasmus+ programs, will be exhibited in a specific area of ​​the school. The artistic editing of the photos is done by the photographer Makos. The exhibition will be inaugurated on October 12 and will remain on a permanent basis at the school.

· Prevention of traffic accidents in Greece and in other European Countries – Prevention of traffic accidents in Greece and in other European Countries

Officers of the Hellenic Police will visit the 4th GE.L. and will inform students about road accidents (frequency, causes, etc.) in Greece compared to other European countries. They will focus on the prevention measures taken in Greece and Europe and analyze the elements that constitute responsible driving behavior.
