According to what she transpires, she let it roll down a cliff for about fifty meters, until Giulia’s body stopped in a gully, where it was then identified. This is the reconstruction made by the police.
The road where Giulia was found is generally closed in the winter, at least until April 15th, because it is not practicable. A circumstance that the young man is not necessarily aware of. The body was found by a dog unit of the Civil Protection of Friuli Venezia Giulia. The area in which it was identified, among other things, is located below the road surface and is so inaccessible that the intervention of a speleo-alpine-river team from Pordenone will be necessary to recover the body.
When the body was found, Giulia’s clothes were the same as the ones she had gone out with on the evening of her disappearance, last Saturday. Meanwhile, as a sign of “condolence, respect and participation in the profound pain of the family”, the mayor of Vigonovo Luca Martello has proclaimed city mourning today and tomorrow, waiting for the date of the funeral ceremony to be established. A torchlight procession for Giulia will be held tomorrow evening in Vigonovo, organized by the Venetian municipality and that of Saonara, in the province of Padua, where the Cecchettin family comes from.
