New raids were recorded this Tuesday, September 12, in the facilities and offices of the Supreme Electoral Tribunal (TSE). The searches were directed by the Special Prosecutor’s Office Against Impunity (FECI), of the Public Ministry (MP). According to the entity, the proceedings were not related to the case against the Movimiento Semilla party.

Electoral Board of the Central District speaks out after actions of the MP

In relation to the actions of the Public Ministry (MP), the members of the Electoral Board of the Central District spoke out and disqualified what happened, since the personnel who were in charge of the proceedings violated the chain of custody when opening the electoral boxes.

Through a press release, the Board highlighted that the boxes that protect the votes cast by citizens “cannot be subject to any violation.”

Bernardo Arévalo presents a request for a pretrial against Consuelo Porras

The legal team of the Semilla Movement party, on behalf of the elected president, Bernardo Arévalo, presented a request for a pretrial against the head of the Public Ministry, Consuelo Porras for eight crimes.

Arévalo accuses the official of incurring the crimes of violation of the Constitution, violating resolutions, abuse of authority for electoral purposes, attack on electoral transportation, failure to fulfill duties, abuse of authority, illicit association and malfeasance.
