Quiero, an international platform that works on the business, sustainability and brand equation, will promote a new edition of Sustainable Brands® Madridhe international meeting of reference in Europe on sustainable developmentwhich since 2015 analyzes and shares the most outstanding experiences of companies and organizations that integrate sustainability into their business models.

Under the slogan ‘From brands with a purpose to brands with an impact’, the 8th edition of Sustainable Brands® Madrid will be held on October 23 and 24 at the IESE Madrid headquarters, who will once again be an academic collaborator at the meeting. During two days, aspects such as the characteristics of impact brands will be analyzed, how one can move from sustainability management to impact management, how they can contribute to curbing ‘greenwashing’ or how purpose and impact are linked.

The role of brands and organizations has changed in the face of the climate urgency and social inequalities. Now, society, investors and governments demand greater commitments from companies to face the challenges that we face as humanity. And they have the opportunity to add to sustainability management the search for positive impact, linking innovation and the regenerative economy to demonstrate their contribution to improving people’s lives and the environment.”, explains Sandra Pina, general director of Quiero and SBMadrid.

The guide ‘From brands with a purpose to brands with an impact’, which Quiero presented last spring, aims to be a support for companies that want to go through this change and will be the backbone of the Sustainable Brands® Madrid program. This document analyzes the six characteristics that differentiate an impact brand, which are: 1) placing impact at the center of the business; 2) have an active, clear and tangible purpose; 3) bet on a systemic approach to face the challenges; 4) promote a regenerative vision of the activity; 5) promote coherence both at the level of strategy and economic resources and the team that is assigned; 6) and measure and report the impact generated.

Impact brands arise as a response to the eco-social crisis, to an increasingly aware citizenry and to the evolution of financial markets towards ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) issues to help achieve the 2030 Agenda. Impact investing is gaining more and more prominence, and from Quiero and SB Madrid we want to accompany companies in this transition.“, explained Pina.
