The accessibility works for the Sants interchange in Barcelona have been awarded

The Department of Territory of the Generalitat of Catalonia has awarded the works to improve accessibility at the Sants interchange. The cost of the project is 1.7 million euros, an item that will be used for the installation of two elevators. Lines 3 and 5 of the Barcelona Metro and the Cercanías network converge at these facilities.

The work will consist of the installation of two elevators to allow connection between the Adif station and the platforms of the Barcelona Metro line 5 station. The first of them will connect the halls of both stops, while the second will establish the connection between the hall of line 5 and the platform of track 2. This action will allow improving internal movements between the different transport networks without having to leave. on the street.
On the other hand, it is also planned to improve accessibility at the Plaza de Catalua and Paseo de Gracia interchanges. The works have already been awarded and will involve a joint investment of 5.2 million euros.
