On the evening of July 20, a group of spectators rushed to L. Šepka’s park to watch the youth award ceremony. During the evening, the most active young people, who won the most votes of local residents for their activities in the district and beyond, were congratulated. From July 8 to 18 The student council of Rokiškis district announced youth nominations – everyone could vote for the most active, most athletic, most artistic, most enterprising young people of the region or their individual initiatives, as well as for people who contributed to the well-being of young people. The mayor of the district, Ramūnas Godeliauskas, was happy that the youth of Rokiškis “every step is getting stronger and braver every time. We see and feel all this and are grateful for it.”
Eleven nominations
As many as 35 nominees competed in the 11th nominations, of which the most liked.
- Javelin thrower Orinta Navikaitė surpassed her rivals in the nomination of the youth athlete of the year.
- The team “Avalus triakampis” was announced as the youth breakthrough of the year.
- Marija Lekandraitė received the most likes and became the leader of the year. “It’s nice when someone sees what you’re doing, when the work pays off,” the girl said.
- “Volunteering is more than an act, it is a vocation. It’s a concern for others and a desire to help,” said Afroditė Tuskaitė, its host, while continuing the event. Luknė Narkevičiūtė, head of education at the Lithuanian School Students’ Union, was soon congratulated as the youth volunteer of the year.
- Fire juggler FIRE KISS project “Kitaip” was nominated as the youth project of the year. The FIRE KISS girls promised to continue their activities, thanked those who voted for them and the Rokiškis Youth Center, and the band member’s dog Vera barked approvingly into the microphone on stage.
- The person of the year, most deserving of the youth, is Dovydas Trumpa, the founder of the group “Alchemikai” that fosters and spreads electronic music culture.
- Youth organization/institution of the year – Rokiškis district school council. A large group of council members gathered on the stage. “It’s nice that we are seen again after a long time”, summed up the representative of the council, Marija Lekandraitė. “Youth organizations are an opportunity for young people to find their own way, to learn responsibility,” emphasized Afrodite, the host of the event.
- UAB “Rokiškio sūris” became the sponsor of the youth of the year. “Don’t be afraid to choose paths with obstacles”, said company representative Aušra Zibolienė.
- People elected the student council of Rokiškis Juozas Tübelis pro-gymnasium in the student council of the year. “Thank you to everyone for voting for the youngest”, – in her turn, teacher Lina Petrauskienė thanked and was happy that her former students, who are successfully continuing their work, gathered here.
- The concert “Paskutinis shokis” by Lukas Milaknis and his dance group “Jaunimas shoka” was nominated as the youth event of the year. “Thanks to everyone, see you on August 22,” Lukas hinted mysteriously and promised surprises.
- Nojus Juchna, the winner of the republican light music competition festival “Pavasario ritum”, was announced as the youth artist of the year.
Music, dancing
During the awards breaks, the audience was charmed by the music performed by flutist Auksė Krumpliauskaitė and violinist Marija Lekandraitė.
The student council of Rokiškis district wished everyone inspiration and support, and the youth affairs coordinator of the district municipality, Gediminas Kriovė, was happy that the idea of youth awards had been revived.
The youth event was crowned by the performance of jugglers FIRE KISS and a disco with DJ MARTYNU DEGA. A lot of young people gathered at the disco to chill. Such a disco in L. Šepkos Park is the first.
