Two climate activists were arrested in Hamburg – Germany last Wednesday after a protest action. They glued themselves to the column that stood on the conductor’s desk. However, those in charge of the concert hall did not hesitate and led them out along with the column.
The activists from the climate protest group glued themselves to the podium during a concert in the city, a video that the activists themselves shared on Twitter shows the protest. The two are seen wearing glowing vests and called for action to combat climate change. The protest seems to have been met with outrage by the spectators, and loud boos were even heard from the audience. This was reported by the local media.
However, those responsible for the concert hall did it quickly, since the safety post on the conductor’s stage was not screwed in, they managed to lead the activists with the iron stuck to them with contact glue out of the hall to the cheers of the audience. The security team received applause for escorting the activists out.
The action was also heavily criticized on social media. “Honestly, it’s just embarrassing”, and “shame on you”, and “with these actions you achieve nothing but contempt for the issue” commented users under the photo of the activists.
The police announced that the two activists were taken into custody after the operation. In recent weeks, climate activists have caused a stir across Europe with various actions. They blocked roads and destroyed, among other things, paintings by Vincent Van Gogh, Claude Monet, the activists demand a stronger commitment against global warming.
