The actor Dimitris Imellos died at the age of 57, after a long battle with cancer.
But after a long career in the theater, he also appeared on television, recently in the series “Sasmos”, where he played the role of “Policeman Fragiadakis”.
Although he had begun his studies at the Law School, he quickly turned to the theatre, studying at Theater workshop of Vassilis Diamantopoulos and then at the Diomedes Fotiadis Drama School. He also studied directing at the Moscow Academy of Theater Arts (GITIS).

He participated in shows like “Oedipus at Colonus”, “Medea”, “Persians”, “Erotocritus”and “Tartufo“, while being a member of the Experimental Stage of the National Theatre, directed by Stathis Livathinos.
In 2001 he was the first young actor to be honored Cup Award for his performance in “Frenapati“, and in 2005 he won the Athenorama magazine’s Male Performance Award for his role in the play”Moliere».
On television he took part in the series “To 10″, “Sasmos”, “Kariotakis”, “Agios Paisios” etc. In the cinema, he stood out in the movies “Bank Bang», «Delivery» and “Tailor».
