Chance Perdomo, star of the television series «Gen V» and «Chilling Adventures of Sabrina» (Netflix), died in a motorcycle accident. He was 27 years old. No other details have been released, although «Deadline», which first broke the news, reports that the British-American actor died in New York state while on his way to Toronto. Perdomo’s publicist confirmed the passing Saturday in a statement to Variety: “It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of Chance Perdomo’s untimely passing following a motorcycle accident in which no one else was involved. We ask that you respect the family’s desire for privacy as they mourn the loss of their beloved son and brother.”
Perdomo was born on October 19, 1996 in Los Angeles, California. As a child, he moved with his mother to Southampton, Hampshire, England, where he attended Redbridge Community School before going to Peter Symonds College in Winchester. The young man intended to study law: instead he moved to London to dedicate himself to acting; he had joined the National Youth Theater and trained at the Identity School of Acting. He had appeared in several television programs and short films before being cast as a regular in Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, starring Kiernan Shipka, Ross Lynch and Jaz Sinclair. He played Ambrose Spellman for four seasons from 2018 to 2020 and embodied the role of Jerome Rogers in the 2018 TV film “Killed by My Debt”, which earned him a BAFTA nomination for best leading actor.
In the Prime Video superhero series «Gen V», a spin-off of the satirical series «The Boys», Perdomo played Andre Anderson, a student at Godolkin University who uses his magnetic manipulation abilities. Production on season two was delayed indefinitely following news of his death. As for cinema, he was part of the cast of the “After” saga, based on the 2014 novel of the same name written by Anna Todd, starring Josephine Langford and Hero Fiennes Tiffin.
