Jayakumar (40) hails from Jeeva Street, Montiamman Nagar, next to Chenkunram. He starred in the upcoming film Chengkunram. He had just finished filming the night before and was returning home on his bike.
On the Chengunram-Tiruvallur highway, Saravanan (24), a resident of Pammadukulam Ellayammanpettai village, collided head-on with a speeding bike while crossing the road near the Alamaram area.
Both of them were seriously injured. Neighbors rescued them and rushed them to a private hospital in Padiyanalur. From there Jayakumar was admitted to Stanley Government Hospital, Chennai for further treatment.
Died tragically yesterday morning without the benefit of treatment there. Saravanan is being treated regularly. Chenkunram police have registered a case and are conducting an investigation.
