The Actor’s Factory 50 years of (R)EXISTENCE at the Vascello Theatre

An immersive show of images, videos, lights, music, memories and anecdotes to celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of the actor’s La Fabbrica company and relive together the magical atmospheres of shows that marked an era.

We will retrace our first theatrical experiences, born with the social unrest and youth movements of the 60s and 70s. To concrete, real, everyday problems, lived as aggregating experiences, where a working group is formed around Giancarlo Nanni and Manuela Kustermann that ranges between theatre, cinema, dance, music and visual arts. These were years of great cultural ferment and the company was soon considered an important point of reference in the artistic revolution of those years. From his work, marked by significant shows for the imagination of young people and beyond, historical productions such as A for Alice, Spring Awakening, The Emperor of China were born, which mark the birth of a theatrical movement that favors the image over the word and which will be known as the Roman school. Within the group, directors and artists such as Memè Perlini, Giuliano Vasilicò, Pippo Di Marca, Valentino Orfeo, Massimo Fedele, Dominot are trained.

So it will be a show event, we will remember the shows held at the Teatro La Fede (the Roman cellars of the 60s and 70s) up to the Teatro Vascello; 50 years and more of our history and our life, suspended between fantasy and reality. A unique, unrepeatable time, a crossroads of explosive and extraordinary artistic energies, still the foundations present in every research show. Many of those protagonists of that time are no longer with us, but that light still reverberates today to enlighten us.

On October 4th from 2.30pm at the Teatro Vascello together with Lega Cooperativewe will present a study conference on Cooperation and Theatre: a history of the future 1974-2024with testimonies, meetings, insights, studies and round table discussions. (detailed program is attached)
