To save up to 36% on electricity, the Ministry of Agriculture (It fits) installed 399 solar panelswhich will generate 225,500 kilowatt hours per year.

After the installation of this infrastructure, the Secretariat was one of the winners of the Energy Efficiency Programwith the Federal Public Administration Recognition 2024in the category “Property with the best result in the Energy Performance Tool of the National Commission for the Efficient Use of Energy (Conuee)”.

With these adjustments, the building operates in a sustainable and environmentally friendly manner, reported the secretary of Agriculture, Victor Villalobos.

He indicated that these actions were applied in response to the energy reform considered in the Energy Transition Law, which promotes the creation of programs to harness solar technology with thermal applications in industrial processes, and to coordinate the integration of a network for harnessing solar energy.

Sader explained that the project represents a benefit for the environment because it will achieve the mitigation of 132 tons of carbon dioxide (CO2) per year, that is, it will avoid releasing this amount of dioxide into the atmosphere and it will contribute to adding actions to reduce the effects of the main agent of global warming.

The impact of the infrastructure installed is equivalent to planting 2,144 trees and caring for them for 10 years, which places this project among the first developed in official offices.
