Suresh, a 35 – year – old youth, was holding a goat for slaughter at the village fair in Valasapalli village in Andhra Pradesh’s Chittoor district yesterday.
Salapathi, who was engaged in slaughtering sheep, was well drunk and completely intoxicated. Suresh, who was holding a goat thinking it was a drunken goat’s goat, was stabbed in the head with a goat’s knife during the slaughter at around 12 midnight yesterday. Injured, Suresh plunged into a pool of blood.
Those present immediately rescued Suresh and rushed him to the government hospital in Madanapalle for treatment. He is being treated there in critical condition. Madanapalle police have registered a case in this regard and are investigating the arrest of Salapathy who beheaded Suresh thinking it was a goat.
