Affiliate – Ina: Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman ruled out the departure of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad from power. The Saudi Crown Prince said in an interview with the American “Time” magazine: “Bashar will remain in power,” expressing his belief that “it is not in the interest of the Syrian president to let the Iranians do what they want in Syria.” In addition, the Saudi prince considered that “it is necessary for the American army to maintain its presence in Syria, despite President Donald Trump’s recent announcement that his country’s forces will withdraw from there soon.” Bin Salman added to the magazine, “We believe that American forces should remain for at least a medium period, if not in the long term.” He believed that “the presence of American forces on Syrian soil is the last effort to prevent Iran from continuing to expand its influence,” according to the magazine.
