A creature that is found only in the Madagascar island communities in the world. When fully grown, it weighs only about one and a half kilos. But this creature called Ai Ai Lemur is capable of evacuating an entire village. Moreover, it is this creature that invites death into homes in Madagascar. Seeing this is a bad omen. Today there are only a handful of ay ays in Madagascar’s natural environment because they are killed on sight. They are kept and bred in some zoos in the US and elsewhere. In fact, the aye-aye uses its long fingers to find its food. The main food is larvae of tree insects etc. At night they tap the logs with their long toes. It will find the hollow part, dig into it, and eat the larvae it gets. They belong to the category of lemurs and can live up to 20 years.
