Digital Week 2023 ended on June 16 at the People’s Palace. The event, which was in its 5th edition, had the theme: ” Digital at the service of the citizen “. The Minister of Posts, Telecommunications and the Digital Economy, Ousmane Gaoual Diallo, announces the color for the future.

For the third and last day of the Digital week, the panelists focused on themes such as technological solutions for agricultural development, for the management of natural resources and the protection of the environment. They explained how digital technologies can be used to improve productivity and also commented on the contribution of digital technology to land use planning.

To close the event, Mamadi Doumbouya was eagerly awaited. Finally, it was the minister spokesperson for the government himself who closed the debates. Ousmane Gaoual Diallo rubbed his hands for the mobilization: “It was an honor to receive 22 countries with experts at all levels, academics, institutions, business leaders and students who came to share, each, his experience and help us take stock of digital adoption in our country. He announces the signing of several agreements with foreign countries, in particular Rwanda: “We have established a partnership and collaboration with the most prominent Rwandan structures that shape digital technology in Rwanda, to support us in the sectors in which we requires”.

The next steps, according to the minister, are to work to make it easier for Guineans to acquire equipment: “Telephone devices today, average prices are around 2,000,000 Gnf for a 4G device. The objective is to strengthen the production of these devices so that the prices can be around 500,000 Gnf, to make it popular. The third thing is to increase investment in the fight against white areas and ensure that the Internet is not only a privilege of cities, but that the rural world can also discover it”.

Ousmane Gaoual Diallo also announces the establishment of one-stop public service counters within the country, to “allow citizens to have a passport, an identity card, a birth certificate, a gray card without moving in Conakry”.
