In its decision relating to “The preservation of Arab security, the fight against terrorism and the development of the Arab system in this area”, the Summit also welcomed the initiative of the Kingdom of Morocco to host the Office of the Program of United Nations for the fight against terrorism and training in Africa.
Arab leaders emphasized, in this same decision, the imperative to refrain from providing any form of support, implicit or explicit, to entities or individuals involved in terrorist acts, including militias or non-state armed groups.
They rejected all forms of blackmail carried out by terrorist groups, including killing hostages, threatening to kill them or demanding ransom, based on the belief that these outlawed armed entities represent a threat to security. member states, their stability and the integrity of their territories.
In another decision entitled “Monitoring Arab interactions with climate change issues”, the Summit welcomed the positive results of the Moroccan presidency of the United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA-6) under the period 2022-2024.
This decision welcomes the conclusions of the Annual Meetings of the World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund, organized in Marrakech from October 9 to 15, 2023, particularly those relating to the financing of climate actions and the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals.
