The ARN branch in the Jezreel Valley is currently celebrating 10 years of activity. The branch that began in Nahalal has been operating for the past four years in Ramat Yishai, thanks to the efforts of the head of the local council, Ofer Ben Eliezer, who understood the importance and contribution of ARN and the end. Over the years, the branch’s activity has increased significantly, and today it has more than 65 volunteers, the vast majority of whom are residents of Ramat Yishai, of whom five drives answer risk calls and save lives every day. Most of the volunteers at the branch have retired in recent years and were looking for a place to volunteer and give to others. Volunteers from the branch have undergone a lengthy training process to provide mental first aid and assistance in cases of mental distress, anxiety, depression and suicidal thoughts and more.
Over the past two years, the branch volunteers have accompanied the residents of the valley in dealing with the corona plague and the health and mental consequences that followed, and provided a quick, accessible response while maintaining the privacy of the applicants.
Beyond the ongoing and daily activities of the ARAN volunteer branch, they also come to the divisions and high schools in the regional schools in the valley and give students and the educational staff a workshop that includes training on mental resilience, adolescent crises and how to manage and succeed them successfully.
