Argentine Franco Colapinto, with a unit from MP Motorsport, finished third in the second race of the International Formula 3 weekend, at the Hungaroring racetrack in Budapest, within the framework of the same program that includes the Formula 1 Hungarian Grand Prix.

The 20-year-old driver from Buenos Aires had started in fourth position and managed to advance one place, to reach 6s471/1000 behind the winner, the British Zak O’Sullivan (Prema Racing), another Williams Academy driver, who covered the 19 laps in 31m27s598/1000.

The one born in Pilar had come from getting seventh place in the Sprint race held last Saturday, also at 19 laps.

In this way, the Argentine accumulated his fourth podium in the 2023 season: second in the Sprint Sakhir; escort in the central competition in Barcelona and winner in Silverstone of the race on Saturday (Sprint) were the previous opportunities in which he inhabited the Top 3.

With this second place, Colapinto retains the sixth position in the contest with 93 points; eight behind guard O’Sullivan and 51 behind the leader, Brazilian Gabriel Bortoleto (Trident).
