Amid tensions between China and Taiwan, Taiwan President Tsai Ing-wen is on a state visit to the United States to attend a high-level meeting on Wednesday. It is also widely expected that the China issue may be discussed with the US President during the trip.
In this case, before the trip to the US, the President of Taiwan met the Army Engineers today and reviewed their training. After addressing them, he said that the main task of the armed forces is to protect democracy and to protect the sovereignty of the country.
He said that we can protect our home and our country through continuous training and strengthening of military combat training. Moreover, the Taiwan President’s visit to the US is considered to be important amid the war tension in the Taiwan-China border areas.
