“I think that the Ukrainian General Staff has done a very good preparation of what will be a counteroffensive when the appropriate conditions are created. This means weather conditions when the ground will be dry, and also, and this is the most important thing, when they [ЗСУ. – Ред.] will conduct enough training and build their logistics.
I think we will see a very professional offensive, very effective, and its goal will be to isolate Crimea and create conditions for its possible liberation later this year,” Hodges said.

The ex-commander also emphasized that the main condition for a successful offensive on Crimea is the provision of long-range high-precision weapons by the West.
According to the lieutenant general, if all the conditions are met, then by the end of August this year, Ukrainian troops will be able to liberate the Crimean peninsula annexed by Russia.
While evaluating the offensive potential of the Russian Federation, Hodges noted: “Russia has no other opportunities to conduct an offensive. There is nothing to start a new offensive.” The general added that in the circumstances, the Russian Federation went on the defensive in an attempt to “keep what is.”
We will remind
Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that the de-occupation of Crimea has no alternative.
